Meet Dr. Nakako Uritani

Dr. Nakako Uritani is a board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She believes in creating a positive and relaxed dental experience for both children and parents, and emphasizes the importance of preventative oral health.

In order to find supportive and natural ways to treat teeth and bite issues, she has taken many hours of continuing education in cranial osteopathy, functional orthodontics, myofunctional therapy, whole body voice training, nutrition, laser therapy, minimally invasive dentistry, and several bodywork modalities.

Dr. Nakako earned a Bachelor's degree in Neurobiology from Cornell University in New York. Before becoming a dentist, she worked as a bioinformatics software consultant traveling to numerous biopharmaceutical companies internationally. She then worked as a research associate in the dental biomaterials laboratory at UCSF and earned her Doctorate in Dental Surgery at the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco where she was inducted into the Tau Kappa Omega Dental Honor society. Dr. Nakako became passionate about treating kids and completed a post-doctorate residency in pediatric dentistry at Lutheran Medical Center in Hawaii. She provided comprehensive dental care for children and people with special needs in under served areas of Oahu and the Big Island.

She is also fluent in Japanese.
